The most common reason why the Album CD plays on the Mac but not on the
PC, lies in the naming of the album(s) and resource files. This is assuming
the following files are correctly recorded on the root directory of your
Album CD:
a. One folder named FlipAlbumCD
b. One folder named MacCDViewer.app
c. One file named autorun.inf
d. One file named startCD.exe
The Windows File System forbids the use of the following characters in
the filename:
| • |
\
|
| • |
/ |
| • |
: |
| • |
* |
| • |
? |
| • |
"
|
| • |
<
|
| • |
>
|
| • |
| |
Hence, naming any of your album related files with the above-mentioned
character(s) will result in error when opening or viewing the album. To
further ensure compatibility between the Mac and the PC platforms, you
are advised to avoid other special characters like:
| • |
'
|
| • |
&
|
| • |
double-space
|
| • |
Any
character outside the standard ASCII character set range of 0x00 -
0x7F, such as Latin characters with accents, umlauts, or other diacritics
|
when naming any of the following items:
1. Album name
2. Image filename (BMP, GIF, JPG, PCX, WMF, ICO, PNG, PSD or TIF file)
3. Video filename (AVI or MPEG1 file)
4. Music filename (MIDI, WAV or MP3 file)
5. Page name (FLP filename, or when renaming the items on the Contents
page)
6. Company Name (via Album CD options setting during Mac FlipAlbum 3 Pro
CD Maker Album CD creation process)
Enjoy!
