There
are three ways you can choose to add your favorite music in FlipAlbum
5, namely, as a book background audio, page audio or as a multi-media
object. Before proceeding, please ensure that your audio file is of MIDI,
WAV or MP3 file format and you have the permission to distribute it. If
you wish to include music of other file formats, you can try using an
audio conversion tool to convert the audio file to one of the supported
file format. We generally recommend MP3 audio file format because the
music is compressed into small easy to use file size without a noticeable
loss of quality. There are a number of audio conversion tools that you
can find on the internet, e.g., Apple Computer's iTunes which can be downloaded
at http://www.apple.com.
1. Book Background Audio
As a book background audio, the music automatically plays when the album
is opened and continues as you view the entire album. There is no limit
to the number of audio files that you can include in the book background.
To insert book background audio in FlipAlbum version 5.0, click on Options
-> More Options menu and select Audio tab. For FlipAlbum version 5.5
users, click on Options -> Set Book Options menu and select Audio tab.
You may enable or disable the book background audio by clicking on the
Audio icon on the standard toolbar.
2. Page Audio
As a page audio, the music automatically plays when you flip to the page
and stops when you flip away from the page. You may play the same music
continuously over several adjacent pages if you were to include the same
audio file on those pages. FlipAlbum version 5.5 batch select feature
allows you to quickly add the same audio file on several pages. Please
note that you may only add one audio file per page.
To insert a page audio, right-click on the page, and select Page Properties...
menu. And if you wish to add the same music on more than one page, first
batch select the pages you would like to add the music, then right-click
on one of the selected pages and select Page Properties... menu to set
the page audio.
There are two ways to batch select your pages, either by flipping through
the album pages and selecting the page to batch select, or by selecting
the desired pages from the Overview, Table of Contents or Index page.
To batch select by flipping through the album pages,
(i) Right click on the margin of the page you wish to select.
(ii) Click Batch Select on the context menu that appears.
(iii) The status bar will indicate that the page has been selected. The
Overview page will also indicate the batch selection.
(iv) Continue steps (i) to (iii) until you have finished selecting all
the pages you would like to add the same page audio.
To batch select/deselect the pages from the Overview, Table of Contents,
or Index page,
(i) Use the Ctrl and left-button on mouse click to select each individual
page.
(ii) Use Ctrl/Shift and left-button mouse click to select multiple pages
at once. Hold down the CTRL-key and click on a page to mark the start
of the selection. Then hold down the SHIFT-key and click on the page to
mark the end of the selection. All the picture pages between the first
and second click will be selected. The titles of the selected pages will
be highlighted.
3. Multi-media Object
As a multi-media object option, the music will only play when the reader
manually clicks on the audio icon or audio link. You may add as many audio
objects on a page.
To insert a multi-media object, click on the Insert icon on the standard
toolbar, browse to the folder where the audio file is located, then drag
and drop the audio file to the page.
Please note that all three options apply to FlipAlbum 5 series only. Mac
FlipAlbum 3 users may only add book background audio in the albums that
they create and distribute.
Enjoy!
