| We
have great news to tell you. We have actually just released an update*
for FlipAlbum® 5 Suite and Professional. The latest build 5.0.1.139
of FlipAlbum® 5 Suite or Professional now allows you to export
your albums to a Slide Show, MPEG movie, or AVI format and you can
use your CD writing program to create the CD in the Video CD, Super
Video CD or DVD format. For the Slide Show, the program will capture
the album pages for you to create a Slide Show CD of still images
in the Video CD format. For MPEG, the program will convert the album
to the MPEG-1 format for you to create Video CDs. And last, the AVI
option will convert the album to the AVI format for you to convert
it to other video formats (e.g., MPEG-2) using a 3rd Party program.
Exporting for TV Viewing also provides you with the ability to reach Mac users! That's right, the .avi file FlipAlbum creates, along with any resulting DVD's, are Macintosh compatible, allowing you to share your albums with all of your friends! Users should take note that the quality of the Video CD albums that are viewed on TV will not be as good as the albums created on FlipAlbum CDs that are viewable on the PC. In order to achieve optimum quality for the Video CD albums that you create, you may want to design your albums with the following points in mind. |

As the movie exporting process is a CPU intensive activity, it is recommended that you use a PIII or P4 machine for this purpose. Also, the following items will not be included when you select to export your album for TV viewing: |

For the Slide Show and AVI format, audio will not be exported at all. However, you can add in background music through 3rd Party Tools. AVI files are extremely large when uncompressed, so you may want to convert your album to a compressed AVI. Compressors offer a range of "quality" settings. You may want to experiment with different compressors and different quality settings to decide a good balance between image quality and file size. Performance is always a factor in deciding how much to compress your images. Test your files and find a good compromise between quality and size that works for your specific purpose.
