| Putting Flipbooks on your Website |
|
Step 1 : Check whether your Internet Service Provider (ISP) supports FlipBooks (OPF)
|
| |
|
If you would like to put your FlipBooks on your website, you will need to verify with your ISP as to whether
they allow the uploading of files with the following extensions:
1) .opf (for flipbook)
2) .tmb (for thumbnail page)
3) .toc (for table of content page)
4) .idx (for index page)
5) .flp (for flipbook page)
The ISP does not need to place any dlls on their server. However, it is recommended that they setup their MIME type
for OPF files. They can do so as seen below:
File extension: opf
MIME Type Setting: application/x-opf
|
| |
|
Step 2: Transfer Flipbooks to your Website using FTP
|
| |
|
Once you have created your flipbooks you can upload them using any FTP program to your web server. All the files
representing the pages of your flipbook need to be uploaded, including the flipbook definition file
(a file with name ending with a .opf).
FlipViewer® supports the following files types: Images (JPG, PNG), OEB Package Format (OPF) Web Pages
(HTML, HTM) and Sound Files (MID, WAV).
|
| |
| Step 3: Make links to FlipBooks |
| |
|
Next make links on your webpage to your OPF files. By default, if FlipViewer® or FlipAlbum® is installed
in a user's computer, the default viewer will open the FlipBook.
However, due to some non-IE browsers used, some inconsistency may be experienced by your users.
We recommend that you make the links to your FlipBook an
auto-install link that opens FlipViewer®. Auto-install links
are links to help your users view FlipBooks, but it also detects if a latest viewer is installed first. Read more
here.
We also provide some resources for webmasters to use sans permission. This includes a service to automatically
create an auto-install FlipBook link.
Steps 3 and onwards, provide more information for you to help us promote FlipViewer®.
|
| |
| Step 4: Upload Logos to your Website using FTP |
| |
|
Next upload the logos here (see below) to your website so that you can link the logos on our site to your
new flipbook. We encourage you to upload the following FlipViewer® logos (see below) for linking to your
new flipbooks. These logos could be used to link users to an URL that will allow them to download the
FlipViewer® program while the little red book could be used to link to the Flipbooks that you have created.
To put these logos on your site, simply click the right mouse button, save the logos on your PC and upload them
by FTP to your server.

text links for the Flipbook. Examples are:

It is a good idea to make the links open a new browser window.
|
| |
| Step 6: Provide FlipViewer® Download on your Website |
