Using FlipAlbum®
This page covers opening, saving, creating, e-mailing and uploading FlipBooks to websites FlipAlbum®.
 
Creating a new FlipBook

You have to ensure that all the contents for your FlipBook are stored in a certain directory in your hard drive. Next click Folder -> Open Folder and the Select Directory dialog box will be displayed. Then navigate to the directory where you saved your contents (images) and click OK. FlipAlbum® will then automatically generate thumbnails and table of contents, and add your contents into the respective pages of the FlipBook. You can then insert/delete pages, arrange the sequence, bookmark your pages or print pages.

To create a new without any pages FlipBook, click File -> New Book.
You can then use Edit -> Insert Page to add blank pages to your new book.
 
Opening FlipBooks with FlipAlbum®

Just as with FlipViewer®, FlipAlbum® allows you to open FlipBooks that you have previously created or downloaded from websites into your local drive. To open an existing FlipBook, simply click File -> Open Book, navigate to to the directory where your FlipBook (with opf extension) is saved, select the FlipBook and click Open.
 
Saving FlipBooks

There are 2 ways to save your flipbooks:
1. Saving your current FlipBook -

To save your current FlipBook, simply click File -> Save. This action only save the FlipBook links for local viewing subsequently.

2. Saving your current FlipBook as a new FlipBook -

There are two options for saving your current FlipBook as a new FlipBook. Click File -> Save As. The Save As dialog box will be displayed. Simply navigate to the directory that you want to save your new FlipBook, enter a filename and click Save. The two options for saving are found in the Save as type. The options are:
Option A - Book, links only (*.opf file)
This option simply saves the links of your FlipBook for local viewing only.

Option B - Book, complete (*.opf file + contents)
This option is meant for you to save all the files in your FlipBook onto your hard drive for subsequent uploading to websites. More details on uploading the saved FlipBook to websites can be found under Para 2.4 Uploading FlipBooks to Web Sites.
 
Uploading FlipBooks to Web Sites

Simply follow the following steps and with a bit of practice, there should not be a problem at all.

In FlipAlbum®, open the book that you want to upload to a web site. Click File -> Save As and the Save As dialog box will be displayed. Navigate to the folder you want to upload and save your book. Please remember that this must be the folder that contains all your images and html resource files you use to create your FlipBook.

Under the Save As Type option, make sure you select Book, complete (*.opf file + contents) and click Save. This step will prepare your folder for the uploading process.

Next click File -> Upload to Web or click the Upload icon on the tool bar. The information dialog telling you that all content of the selected folder would be uploaded and reminding you to perform a "Save As" would be displayed. Click OK to continue. The Upload dialog box will be displayed.
 
Upload to your website:

To upload to your own website, click on the "Advanced Option - Other FTP Sites" selection and in enter the ftp site address, folder, user id and password. Modify the Book Name if you want to. Do not use space in your book name.
 
Upload to myflipbooks.com:

If you do not have any web site to upload your FlipBook to, you can select the MyFlipBooks site which is free for 60days. If you have previously registered yourself, then click Next. Else you have to click the new user button to register yourself with MyFlipBooks. Make sure you have your FlipAlbum® Product ID ready. Once you have registered by clicking "Join now", you would need to key in your username and password at the "Login - Free Hosting Sites" dialog box and click Next to upload your FlipBook.

Do note that the uploading process may take some time depending on your connection speed and the size of the content that you are uploading. Once the uploading is completed, you will be asked if you would like to view your uploaded book, email to your friends, add your online book to FlipViewer® Plus's favourite and add your book to Fliplibrary. Simply select the relevant radio buttons and click OK.

To view your uploaded FlipBook subsequently, you can go to www.myflipbooks.com, enter your username and password, and you would be able to view all the FlipBooks that you have previously uploaded.
 
Sharing your FlipBooks on the Internet

You can share your FlipBook on the Internet by adding them to the flipbook search engine at www.fliplibrary.com.

To add your flipbooks to fliplibarary.com follow these steps. Open the online FlipBook that you want to share. Click File -> Add Book to www.fliplibrary.com to register your book in Fliplibrary. A "Register A FlipBook into FlipLibrary's Catalog" window will be displayed. Follow the instructions to enter your FlipBook information. Click Submit.
 
Email your FlipBooks

If you have selected email Flipbook option during upload, a screen will appear for you to key in the subject of email and email addresses of the people you want to send to. Each of these persons will receive an email with a link to your online FlipBook and a link to download FlipViewer®.
