1 : How to setup a FlipViewer® Auto-Install FlipBook?

To setup a FlipViewer® Auto-Install FlipBook, just add the following codes in blue to the FlipBook link:

2 : What are FlipViewer® Auto-Install FlipBooks?
|
| |
|
FlipViewer® Auto-Install FlipBooks are FlipBooks which can detect if FlipViewer® has been
installed in a computer. If FlipViewer® is detected, then the
FlipBook is opened normally to be viewed. If FlipViewer® has not
been installed, the FlipBook installer is downloaded and the installation
started automatically. The FlipBook will then open automatically.

3 : Which Flipbooks can be made into FlipViewer® Auto-Install Flipbooks?

Any Flipbook can be made into a FlipViewer® Auto-Install Flipbook. All that is required is that
the Flipbooks exist and hosted on a web server.

4 : How does it work? What will happen?
|
| |
A Flipbook is linked normally
to a page. Upon clicking to open the Flipbook, a Javascript function
is called. This function calls a script on the FlipViewer®.com server.
The script pops open a detection page. This page has an ActiveX component
in it that would sense if FlipViewer® is installed in the user's
computer.
If the FlipViewer® is not present, then the ActiveX component
will start downloading the FlipViewer® and installing it.
New! Non-activeX aware browsers will be shown a manual install page
instead. This includes Netscape browsers.

| 5 : What are the limitations? |
| |
Currently, the ActiveX component allows only ActiveX-aware browsers (IE) to detect
the installation of FlipViewer®. In addition, Javascript must
be enabled in the user's browsers.
New! Netscape browsers users can have the FlipViewer® Auto-Install
Flipbooks auto-launch after installing FlipViewer® manually. Ignore
the Visit PlugIns message.

| Optional : Add Javascript to make your auto-install window without top menu or scroll bar |

By adding Javascript to your
url, you can now make your auto-install window popup with any menu
bar or scroll bar.
You can do that by adding this to your URL:

The Javascript will open up the auto-install page into another window
browser, and that window browser will not have any menu bar and scroll
bar.
